Accounts Assistant, Part time

Location: Tamworth, B77 4ASSalary: £26.5k and £32k, DOE + Benefits - Pro RataContract: Part time, Fixed Term Contract (Maternity cover) - Opportunity for permanent role at end of contractHours: 25-30 per week, Mon - Fri, negotiable

Accounts Assistant - Duties & Responsibilities:

What you'll be doing:

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will ensure the smooth running of the accounts function on a day-to-day basis to enable the efficient completion of month end accounts by the company's Accountant, This specifically includes:

  • Processing of salaries and weekly wages including related tasks such as expenses/private milage
  • Credit control incl. statements
  • Posting cash and bank reconciliation
  • Raising bank payments eg suppliers, wages
  • Processing of purchase/sales invoices into Sage
  • Credit card analysis
  • Preparations for the management accounts eg accruals, pre-payments
  • General accounts enquiries
  • Production of various reports
  • Working effectively with multi-departments including head office
  • Time management across a multi-faceted role

Accounts Assistant - Candidate requirements:

We need someone who knows their way around Sage and Excel and has at least a basic knowledge of financial principles and practices either from experience in a role and/or from an account's qualification such as AAT or similar.
